You have already participated in or organized Climate Frescoes ?

So much the better, you must have experienced the slight frustration felt at the end of the fresco when the action is finished and the post-its are put away.

However, within the framework of the frescoes, many ideas, eco-actions and projects emerge at each sessionThese proposals reflect the commitment and creativity of the participants, but their diversity can make their implementation complex.

To capitalize on this wealth and transform these ideas into concrete actions, we have developed a prioritization matrix CSR actions.

This tool aims to:

  • Structure and prioritize ideas in order to quickly identify those which have the greatest potential for environmental impact and/or are the easiest to implement;
  • Encourage action by identifying absolute priorities (P1) and planning strategic initiatives (P2);
  • Involve employees in a collective process of selection and activation of initiatives.

Presentation of the CSR Action Prioritization Matrix

The matrix is based on two simple but fundamental evaluation axes:

  1. Environmental impact : Measures the ecological benefits of an idea, an eco-gesture or an initiative (from 1: very low, to 5: very high).
  2. Feasibility : Rates the ease of implementation, taking into account costs, time, resources required and possible constraints (from 1: very difficult, to 5: very easy).

These two dimensions allow each proposition to be positioned in one of the following four quadrants:

  • P1 – Absolute priority : Initiatives at strong impact et easy to implement, to be activated immediately
  • P2 – Strategic Initiatives : Projects to strong impact but requiring more time, resources or preparation.
  • P3 – Limited Quick Wins : Actions that are easy to implement, but whose environmental impact remains limited.
  • P4 – Low Priority Initiatives : Low-impact ideas that are difficult to execute, document, or temporarily shelve.

Evaluation Methodology

During the workshops or at the end of the workshops, the participants and/or CSR team are invited to evaluate each idea on a scale of 1 to 5 for the axes of impact and feasibility, using clear criteria:

  • Impact: What is the environmental impact of this action?
  • Feasibility: What resources are needed to achieve it (time, budget, technical complexity)?

Once the collective scores are assigned, the ideas are placed in the matrix, which allows for quick visualization of priorities.

  • P1: Act immediately on these initiatives which combine impact and ease
  • P2: Plan these strategic projects with in-depth consideration and support.
  • P3: Motivate and engage by performing these quickly accessible actions.
  • P4: Reassess or pause these low priority initiatives.

CSR action prioritization matrix: what benefits for the company?

Thanks to this matrix, the proposals from the climate frescoes do not remain at the stage of intentions, but become feasible projects.

Each employee becomes an actor of change, by participating in the prioritization and monitoring of initiatives.

The tool offers transparency and objectivity in the choice of actions to be taken, promoting collective support.

How does Beeshake help you transform your climate murals into action boosters?

To ensure effective monitoring, prioritized ideas and initiatives (including P1 and P2) will be integrated into Beeshake. This space allows:

  • To submit ideas and eco-actions to the entire company to gather opinions and support;
  • To monitor their implementation using progress indicators;
  • To celebrate successes and share good practices.

To go further, we also recommend associating KPIs with P1 and P2 initiatives, as this allows you to:

  1. Track progress: KPIs provide clear visibility on the progress and results of the actions implemented.
  2. Measuring the real impact: They allow to assess whether the initiatives achieve the planned environmental and operational objectives.
  3. Improve transparency: Employees and stakeholders can see the concrete benefits of the actions taken.
  4. Facilitate communication: Measurable results strengthen internal and external CSR reporting.
CSR Banner - CSR Practical Guide

Here are some key steps to setting up KPIs:

KPIs should be aligned with the objective of the initiative. Here are some examples:

  • Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions (eg: tons of CO₂ avoided).
  • Energy Efficiency (eg: kWh saved per year).
  • Employee engagement (e.g.: number of participants proposing CSR initiatives, engagement rate).
  • Financial impact (eg: savings made through the initiative)
  • Human impact (eg: man time saved thanks to the initiative).
  • The submission fields for a form will therefore be at least:
    • Name of the Initiative
    • Description and Purpose.
    • KPI (nature of the estimated gain and its recurrence)
  • Responsibility : Assign one or more managers per initiative to track KPIs.
  • Monitoring frequency: Decide how often KPIs will be analyzed (monthly, quarterly).
  • Regularly present the progress of P1 and P2 to the rest of the company. This can be done during CSR meetings, via newsletters or even dedicated articles.

The CSR action prioritization matrix is an essential lever for transforming the collective commitment born from the climate fresco into concrete and measurable actions. We invite you to use it actively during the next frescoes, and to contribute to its improvement over the course of your experiences.
